COURT HOUSE — Middle Township’s 13th annual Olde Tyme Harvest Festival drew crowds to Mechanic Street and nearby Boyd Street on Sat., Oct. 23.
The annual gathering brought together residents and curious visitors who dined on a variety of specialties, enjoyed music, and searched for bargains.
In front of the Cape May County Library main branch, students of Hamer’s Karate Studio performed feats of daring and broke wood and bricks with their bare hands.
On North Boyd Street, a tractor pulled a hay ride trailer and a smaller engine chugged along towing tiny cars behind the hayride.
Members of the Dramis Detachment, Marine Corps League rolled out their spit-and-polish uniforms as they sold cupcakes to help start the Toys for Tots collection that will continue through the holiday season. Overseeing the Marines was the detachment’s faithful mascot Dallas, a 4-year-old English bulldog.
Nearby, members of the Middle Township Police Department met the public and members of the Jersey Cape Beekeepers Association answered question and amazed onlookers with hives of honey-filled wax as some of the producers buzzed busily around.
Elsewhere along Mechanic Street, a variety of vendors rolled out their wares while bargain hunters were eager to find something to take home.
