County Seeks Applicants for 39th Annual Senior Art Contest & Show

COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Kristine Gabor announced that the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Aging and Disability Services are currently seeking entrants for the 39th Annual Senior Art contest. The contest is open to both professional and non-professional artists.
All applicants must be age 60 or older and a year round resident of Cape May County. Applicants can enter a total of two entries, completed within the last three years that were not entered in previous County or State Senior Art Contests. Any person claiming professional status must have either sold the type of art being entered in the contest exhibited professionally or held membership in a professional artist guild or association.
All artwork must be an original creation and meet the requirements as listed in the application. The information you submit on your application must match the entry you deliver, no substitutions will be accepted.
Categories of eligible work include Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel, Print, Drawing, Sculpture, Photography, Computer Graphics, Mixed Media and Craft.
Applications are due no later than May 31, 2013. Applications are available at all Cape May County Libraries, County Senior Centers, Crest Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Cape May County Administration Building, the Ocean City Arts Center and the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ office. The 39th Annual Senior Art Show will be held on June 5, 2013 in the lobby of the Cape May County Administration Building located at 4 Moore Road, Cape May Court House, NJ. The general public is welcome to stop by from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to see the talent of our very own Cape May County senior residents. An awards presentation will take place at 2:30 p.m.
