COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Park and Zoo’s annual “Boo at the Zoo” event will take place Oct.18 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Cape May County Park, in Cape May Court House.
Sponsored by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholder, this event is free and open to the public. Visitors of all ages are invited to wear a costume to this fun family event, which includes activities for the kids, games, candy, entertainment, animals, inflatable obstacle course, a magic show and more.
A Freeze Frame Costume Dance Contest will start at 11 a.m., registration begins at 10 a.m. An awards presentation will follow the Halloween costume contest. A live animal show will start at 1 p.m. continuing on the hour and half hour.
Freeholder Marie Hayes, liaison to the Park and Zoo, invites families to come out for a fun filled day and be sure to visit the Zoo after the festivities. “The Park and Zoo is always fun, but it is much more when the kids come in costumes and enjoy all the Halloween activities that will take place,” Hayes said.
“Bring the entire family to the park and zoo for a day of spooktacular fun and make sure to visit the more than 500 animals that call the Cape May County Zoo home – including our new addition a male Bison calf, born on September 10th, Hayes added.
The Cape May County Zoo is located at 707 Route 9 North in Cape May Court House (Exit 11 off of the Garden State Parkway). The free Zoo is open, weather permitting, 364 days a year – closed on Christmas Day.
