WILDWOOD — A free outdoor festival featuring live country music, vintage pickup trucks, food, contests and radio personalities will be a highlight of the first Wildwoods Country Music Weekend, October 22-23.
Joe Kelly, morning show host and program director for Cat Country 107.3fm will emcee the entertainment on the outdoor stage.
The Holly Beach Fire Company will host a beer truck at the festival, serving beer to adults with I.D.
In addition, area postmasters will unveil the new “Cowboys of the Silver Screen” stamps honoring Roy Rogers, Tom Mix, William S. Hart, and Gene Autry. A vintage pickup truck show will add country flavor to the event, with prizes for outstanding vehicles.
The event will be highlighted by a Wildwood Country Showcase concert on Saturday, featuring platinum selling country music group Sawyer Brown, along with American Idol singer, Josh Gracin, and country music duo Bomshel.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. inside the Wildwoods Convention Center’s Oceanfront Arena, located at 4501 Boardwalk. Tickets are also on sale for the Starlight Roadhouse Country Dance Party on Fri., Oct. 22, also taking place in the Starlight Ballroom inside the Wildwoods Convention Center from 8 p.m.-midnight.
The dance party will feature live country music by After the Reign; contemporary country DJ Cowboy Kenn between sets; and line dancing lessons with Vicki Cusack. After the Reign has played across the country, opening for Diamond Rio, Vince Gill, Charlie Daniels and Johnny Paycheck.

The free country festival will take place in Fox Park, located across from the Wildwoods Convention Center from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and will feature live music by Tequila Rose, Due South, and the Ann Oswald Band.
Headliner for the Saturday night Wildwood Country Showcase is Sawyer Brown, “the Rolling Stones of country music.”
Also performing at the Wildwood County Showcase is Josh Gracin, whose big break came when he appeared on “American Idol” during its second season.
