CAPE MAY— Cape May Stage is proud to announce a raucous and bawdy presentation with our talented acting interns.
Billed as “a comic vaudeville”, Romantic Fools is a revue of 12, two-character sketches examining love, lust, dating and romance.
Directed by Eric Olsen, Romantic Fools will run July 3, 10, 24, and 31 at 10:30 p.m. at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse on Bank and Lafayette Streets.
Drawing on inspiration from the likes of Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, Jules Feiffer, the Marx Brothers, and classic vaudeville, these sketches vary wildly in style, yet they all celebrate the farcical nature inherent in male-female relationships.
From a date with a caveman (Find Me a Primitive Man) to the joys of dull sex (One Man’s Secret Desire) to the surprise frustrations of having a perfect mate.
For this offering, Cape May Stage has partnered with Cabanas Beach Bar and Grill at the corner of Beach & Decatur for an enticing deal! Simply present your ticket stub from Romantic Fools at Cabanas’ door and receive no cover charge and one free beverage of your choice!
That is a $20 value for the price of a $10 ticket!
Says Cape May Stage Artistic Director Roy Steinberg, “When you combine attractive, talented actors with smart, comic writing, you get the Cape May Stage Intern Late Night Show! It is the perfect way to start or end your Saturday night!”
Part of Cape May Stage’s acclaimed Second Stage Series, Romantic Tickets are $10. Call (609) 884-1341 for reservations and information or visit the theatre’s website, www.capemaystage.com .
