CAPE MAY – With confidence that Spring is just around the corner the New Jersey Audubon announce that special programs for special “little “people at the Nature Center of Cape May will resume this March with an added new offering. Taught by local artist and popular art educator, Janet Payne these programs for the pre-school set have been known to fill up quickly. Center Direct Gretchen Whitman encourages parents to call immediately to reserve a spot on the limited roster.
“Mommy and Me” children’s programs
Fridays, March 7 to May 9
10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
For ages two to four years old. Designed to engage the curious naturalists-to-be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or grandparent. Each week, we’ll focus on a different aspect of nature with stories, songs, crafts, activities, outdoor experiences, and lots of fun! We encourage children and accompanying adult to explore the natural world together. Adult participation is required. Preregistration is required.

Art for little Hands
Fridays, March 7 to May 9
11:30 – 12:30 a.m.
This is a new program for ages three to five years old. Designed to for that first exploration of art and to let them get messy and have some fun! Each week, we’ll look at a famous work of art, and create our own masterpieces. We will focus on colors, shapes, size and textures, while strengthening fine motor skills with a variety of activities including cutting, tearing, gluing, painting, drawing and sculpture. Preregistration is required.
