CAPE MAY – Cape May Stage with the support of the Southern Shore Regional Destination Marketing Organization, is offering big discounts this September at Cape May Stage by hosting special discount performances of Mark St. Germain’s thought-provoking play, “Freud’s Last Session.”
Cape May Stage tackles the question of a higher power with “Freud’s Last Session”. In 1939, author C.S. Lewis pays a visit to the London flat of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. As World War II wages outside, Freud the atheist and Lewis the believer engage in debate about God, love, sex and the meaning of life. Cape May Stage veterans Joel Rooks and Mark Irish embody these historic figures in a performance guaranteed to stick with audiences long after the final bow.
A special half-price senior performance will occur on Oct. 2 at 8:00 p.m. with senior tickets available for $15. Oct. 10 is a “pay-what-you-can” performance at 8:00 p.m., where any remaining seats will go on sale fifteen minutes before show time at the price of your choosing! “Pay-what-you-can” night is cash only at the door. And at 3 p.m. on Oct. 19 will be a $25 anniversary matinee with all tickets being sold at the discount price of $25.
Also be sure to join Cape May Stage on Sept. 29 at 5:00 p.m. for a special session of “Coffee and Conversation”. Discuss the role of ‘contradictions’ in the show with the cast and crew while enjoying complimentary coffee and light snacks. This event is free and open to the public.
All performances and events take place at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse located on the corner of Lafayette and Bank Streets in downtown Cape May.
