CAPE MAY – The Center for Community Arts announces the Shore Grand Slam on Sun., April 21, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Cape May Stage’s Robert Shackleton Playhouse at the corner of Lafayette and Bank Streets in Cape May. Winners of the Storytelling, Poetry Slams and Bull Slams from the Winter Slam Series will compete for the grand prize. The Grand Slam theme is “Under the Gun.”
With the Bull Slam, stories can be true, partially true or completely untrue. You win the bull slam by being the best at putting one over.
Monthly winners in the storytelling category are: John Alvarez, Edgar Holmes, Kaitlyn Cockery, Emily Dempsey and Phil Broder. Audience favorites were Barbara Sobel, Suzanne Logeman and Barbara Ridgeway.
Monthly winners in the Poetry category were: David Check, Ann Kelly, Los Chil. The audience favorites were Paul Kosten, Kaitlyn Cockery and David Check.
The Bull Slam winners are Charles Logeman, Kaitlyn Cockery, Mark Allen, Mark Allen and Edgar Holmes.
An after party sponsored by the Lucky Bones Backwater Grille will be held immediately following the event. Come out to Cape May Stage’s Robert Shackelton Playhouse. This is a must see event.
