COURT HOUSE – Middle Township’s annual Christmas celebration will be held Dec. 5. The parade will start at 6 p.m., beginning at Cape Bank on Route 9 and proceeding south down Route 9, turning right onto Hand Avenue and right onto Boyd Street, concluding at the Old Fire House.
The celebration will continue at the Old Fire House, with the tree lighting kicking off the festivities at 6:30 p.m., along with the announcement of the winners of the township’s Christmas House Decorating Contest. A full night of fun family activities will continue through 8:45 p.m. at various locations.
The Middle Township Chamber of Commerce Christmas Bazaar will be held in the Old Fire House. Vendors selling glassware, jewelry, cosmetics, tasty treats, and more will provide an opportunity to get some holiday shopping accomplished! There will also be activities for children such as face painting and caricature drawings. The Chamber is also sponsoring a raffle, with all proceeds of the evening supporting the Tree of Life.
Additional vendors and organizations will be set up on Boyd and Mechanic Streets. P&D Concessions will be distributing free cookies and hot chocolate from their food truck on Mechanic Street, and at 7 p.m. there will be a magic show in the Just Sports parking lot. In the Municipal Courtroom at Township Hall, Mrs. Claus will be on hand to read Christmas stories. Last but not least, Santa will visit the new Fire House on Mechanic Street, so be sure to have those wish lists ready!
In the event of heavy rain, the parade would be cancelled, but the other festivities Fire will be held rain or shine.
