WILDWOOD – The 19th Annual Boardwalk National Car Show provided plenty of “eye candy” for the countless auto enthusiasts in attendance. Great weather made for great times on the boardwalk this weekend. Thanks to George Capua for the excellent photos.
WILDWOOD — New Jersey Thunder Motorsports Inc. will host the 19th Annual Boardwalk National Car Show, Thurs., May 5 through Sat., May 7. This three-day, island-wide event will feature an incredible collection of cars and trucks of all makes and models on display on the world-famous Wildwoods Boardwalk from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The event is also set to include a variety of fun activities from beginning to end that are sure to entertain the car lover in everyone.
The Boardwalk National Car Show kicks off on Thurs., May 5 from 6-8:30 p.m. with a “Street Hop” for participants at Sweet Briar and Ocean Avenues in Wildwood Crest. The “Street Hop” will feature a festival with a DJ, food and trophies for that night’s top cars. Trophies will be given in the following categories: Best Original, Best Rod, Best of Show: Best Engine, Best Interior, and Best Paint. Judging will start at 7:30 p.m. and awards will be announced 8:30 p.m.
The excitement continues on Fri., May 6 and Sat., May 7 when spectators will have the opportunity to view and admire beautiful cars and trucks from the present and years past as they are displayed on the Wildwoods Boardwalk – rated one of the “Top 10 Boardwalks in America.” And at 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, don’t miss the parade of gorgeous cars and trucks down the Boardwalk.
On Saturday evening, a “Winner’s Circle” event will take place in front of the Wildwoods Convention Center from 6-8 p.m. including the Top 40 Winners, Top Gun, Ladies’ Choice, Best Interior, Best Paint, Most Likely to Get Pulled Over, Club Participation, Best Engine and Most Original winners. Cars will line up as judges select the “Best of Show” – with the winner being awarded $500 and a trophy.
Awards will be presented during a new awards ceremony on Saturday night, May 7, from 8:30-10 p.m., inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. During the ceremony, trophies will be handed out to winners and drawings will be held for participants to win cash prizes of $150, $250 and $500.
