CAPE MAY – Cape May Stage, South Jersey’s premier Equity theatre, is delighted to welcome one of Broadway’s hottest performers to the Robert Shackleton Playhouse. Jarrod Spector, who currently stars as Frankie Valli in the Tony, Olivier, & Grammy Award-winning Best Musical, Jersey Boys, will bring his own concert entitled Minor Fall, Major Lift to Cape May Stage on Monday August 29, 2011. This concert is directed by Eric Michael Gillett and features music direction by Adam Ben-David.
After more than 1,000 performances in the hit musical Jersey Boys, Jarrod Spector is taking audiences on the ride of HIS lifetime. From “Star Search” champion to Ivy League dropout and back to Broadway as one of the most iconic rock singers ever – these are the songs and stories of a kid from Philadelphia and his tumultuous relationship with music. In Minor Fall, Major Lift, Cape May Stage audiences can expect to hear such classics as Bobby Darrin’s “Splish Splash”, Paul Anka’s “Put Your Head On My Shoulder,” Hall & Oates’ “Kiss On My Lips,” The Beatles’ “Golden Slumbers,” Chicago’s “Inspiration,” Barry Manilow’s “Even Now,” and even Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll.”
A rollicking, feel-good concert, Spector played the iconic superstar “Valli” for two years in the Jersey Boys National Tour, prior to his Broadway run for the past two years. He studied acting at The Atlantic Theater Company in NYC and has since performed in Les Miserables (Broadway and National Tour), Hamlet, and Our Country’s Good to name a few. Jarrod has appeared as a performer on both the Emmy and Tony Award ceremonies, as well. Minor Fall, Major Lift premiered at New York’s prestigious Feinstein’s At Loew’s Regency in January 2011, and has had 3 engagements since.
Part of Cape May Stage’s Second Stage Broadway Series, Jarrod Spector will appear Monday, August 29th at 8pm at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse at the corner of Bank and Lafayette Streets in downtown Cape May.
