Cape May Stage Presents “Freud’s Last Session”

By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY – The existence of God is a polarizing question – one that man has grappled with for years.
In Mark St. Germain’s Freud’s Last Session, two great minds come together to debate this very issue. Psychologist Sigmund Freud and author C.S. Lewis meet one day in 1939 in Freud’s London flat and come together in an electrifying conversation about God, love, and the meaning of life. As war wages outside, an intellectual spar between Freud, the staunch atheist, and Lewis, the devout Christian, occurs inside. A thought-provoking play, Freud’s Last Session engages with controversial topics that resonate long after the show ends.
Freud’s Last Session’s remarkable cast comprises of two Cape May Stage veterans: Mark Irish and Joel Rooks. Both were last seen here in 2011; Mark Irish in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare… Abridged and Joel Rooks in Say Goodnight Gracie.
The cast is joined by a talented production team, including Producing Artistic Director Roy Steinberg (Boeing Boeing, How to Make a Rope Swing), in the role of Director; Lisa Shames, Stage Manager; Robert J Martin, Set Designer; Cyrus Newitt, Lighting Designer; and Celeste Livingston, Costume Designer.
