Cape May Stage Presents Chances to Save for “The Mountaintop”

By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY – Cape May Stage, Cape May’s premier Equity theatre company now in its 26th year, opens the season with The Mountaintop by Katori Hall, a surrealistic drama, taking place on the eve of Martin Luther King’s assassination. A mysterious hotel maid, Camae, brings King a cup of coffee and the two engage in conversation that sheds a new light on King in this powerfully stripped down portrait of an American legend.
Cape May Stage is proud to offer great savings to the New Jersey premiere of this amazing drama. May 25 at 3 p.m. there will be a special half-price senior matinee with tickets on sale for $15 to senior patrons (62+). Or save no matter your age with ‘Pay-What-You-Wish’ night June 6 at 8 p.m. On this night, any remaining seats will be sold fifteen minutes prior to show time at the price of your choosing. No advance reservations are available for this deal and ‘pay-what-you-wish’ tickets are cash only.
Immediately following the performance June 6 there will be a talkback with the cast and crew. There are also two documentary film screenings that coincide with The Mountaintop. May 25 at 7 p.m. there will be a screening of the documentary The Powerbroker: Whitney Young’s Fight for Civil Rights, which focuses on another important leader of the civil rights movement. At 8 p.m. June 2 another documentary The March will be screened – this one focusing on the March on Washington, the biggest civil protest in American history. Both screenings are ‘pay-what-you-wish’ events.
