Cape May Stage/ PNC Arts Alive Host Several Special Evenings for “Romance/Romance”

By Herald Staff

CAPE MAY — Double your pleasure at Cape May Stage, with several special events scheduled for patrons attending the Tony-nominated musical Romance/Romance!
Through the generous support of PNC Arts Alive, the Equity theatre is pleased to host author Barry Harman on Sat., July 24 in an engaging post-show discussion following the 8 p.m. performance.
On Sun., July 25, all seniors 62 and older can attend a “Senior Savings” performance at the discounted rate of $15 per ticket – a 50% discount off regular box office prices. In addition to the discount on the 25th, composer Keith Herrmann will be in attendance to participate in an informal talk back session where all audience comments and questions will be welcome.
Both post-show discussions are included in the ticket price and provide a unique opportunity for audience members to meet and greet theater professionals in an intimate setting.
Barry Harman (Book & Lyrics) is a writer, lyricist and director for theater and a writer-producer in TV. A Harvard grad, he began his TV career and won his first of several primetime Emmys at age twenty-three. PNC Financial Services Group is the presenting sponsor of Cape May Stage’s “Senior Savings Series.” The support is part of PNC Arts Alive, a five-year, $5 million investment from The PNC Foundation to help area residents gain access to the arts, and to help arts organizations expand and engage audiences.
Seniors are encouraged to attend Romance/Romance on Sunday, July 25 at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse at Bank & Lafayette Streets in downtown Cape May for $15 per ticket. The final public performance of the current run is at 8pm on Saturday evening, August 21.
Directed by Peter Reynolds and featuring the musical theater talents of Broadway’s Jennifer Evans (Ragtime¸ Jersey Boys), Charles Hagerty (Wicked, Les Miserables), Jeffrey C. Wolf (Cabaret, Cloud 9), and Nikol Wolf (Evita, Radio City Christmas Spectacular), Romance/Romance pairs two distinctive one-acts to create an entertaining musical that explores the highs and lows of love.
