Cape May Stage Offers Special Afternoons of Theatre

By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY – Cape May Stage, with the support of the Southern Shore Regional Destination Marketing Organization, is offering big discounts this Nov. at Cape May Stage by hosting two special afternoons of theatre. The theatre’s production of Poe, Times Two, Greg Oliver Bodines twin tales of murder and mystery, now playing at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse, has scheduled a half-price Senior Matinee on Sat., Nov. 10 followed by a Pay What You Can matinee performance on Sun., Nov. 11.
On Sat., Nov. 10, seniors, 62 and over, are invited to attend a 3 p.m. performance at the discounted rate of $15 per ticket (thats 50% off regular box office prices). Senior Matinees sell out very quickly, so reservations are a must! On Sun., Nov. 11, theatre-goers are invited to attend a Pay What You Can matinee performance at 3 p.m. The ticket amount paid is entirely at the discretion of the theatergoer (you decide the ticket price!) and is intended to draw those who are deterred by the traditionally higher prices.
Considered a must-see for Poe enthusiasts and fans of mystery and horror, Bloomberg Radio’s Joe Franklin states, “In Poe, Times Two, adaptor/performer, Greg Oliver Bodine, dramatically renders the stories of The Cask of Amontillado and The Black Cat with intelligence, humor and a serious appreciation of Edgar Allan Poes understanding of our fears and madness. Ably directed by DeLisa M. White, with excellent production elements in this intimate space, Poe, Times Two provides an evening perfectly suited to this season of late Oct. and early bleak Nov.!”
Cape May Stage encourages audiences to take advantage of these two upcoming special promotions. Tickets for designated pay what you can performances go on sale at the box office at 2:45 p.m. prior to a 3 p.m. curtain time on Sept. 30. Patrons may elect to pay anywhere from $1 to the normal ticket price of $35 adults, $30 seniors, and $15 students. Whatever tickets have not been sold for that afternoons performance will be pay what you can and will be on a first-come first-serve basis. Cash sales and exact change only. Seating for all pay what you can performances is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.
Poe, Times Two runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse at 405 Lafayette Street in downtown Cape May through Nov. 16. Tickets are $35 adults, $30 seniors (62+), and $15 students. Call (609) 884-1341 for reservations and information or visit the theatres website, www.capemaystage.org.
Poe, Times Two is presented through the gracious support of The Queen Victoria Bed and Breakfast. This season’s sponsors include 410 Bank Street, Frescos, Cape May Winery, Cape S Cape, Corner Cottage Apartments, Exit Zero, Harrys Bar & Grille at the Montreal Inn, The Washington Inn, and Lucky Bones.
