Cape May Stage’s Sixth Annual Second Stage Broadway Series features:
Emily Bergl, July 7 at 8 p.m.
Best known for her role as Beth Young on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, Bergl has appeared on Broadway opposite big names like Laurence Fishburne and Stockard Channing. Described by The New York Times as “a natural stage entertainer who suggests a multiple exposure of Carol Burnett, Bette Midler, and Madonna,” Emily Bergl brings her unique cabaret style to Southern New Jersey in a performance you don’t want to miss.
Anna Bergman, July 14 at 8 p.m.
Acclaimed soprano Anna Bergman presents an evening of song that’s been proclaimed “electrifying” and “performed to perfection” by critics. In this awe-inspiring performance, Bergman covers American classics by beloved composers like Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein, and the Gershwins, while delving into her European roots with Parisian chanson and Italian opera in an “act of splendid unpredictability.”
Liz and Ann Hampton Callaway, July 28 at 7 p.m. & 9 p.m.
The Callaway sisters are keeping it in the family again as they return to Cape May Stage with a brand new routine. A rare duo who equally impress audiences with both their solo numbers and duets, these Tony-nominated sisters will enchant audiences with songs that showcase their distinct musical backgrounds in what’s guaranteed to be an evening to remember.
Karen Akers, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m.
Tony-award nominee Karen Akers returns to Cape May Stage to scintillate audiences with an intimate evening of cabaret. Described by The Los Angeles Herald-Examiner as possessing a “great voice… coupled with an intelligence that creates moments of riveting theatricality,” Akers has performed in a number of impressive venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl and the White House. In her last visit to Cape May Stage, she gave an electrifying performance to a sold-out house – don’t miss this encore!
Jill Eikenberry and Michael Tucker, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. & 9 p.m.
Best known as the stars of NBC’s L.A. Law, Cape May favorites Eikenberry and Tucker have come back to regale audiences with entertaining anecdotes about their home life, split between the crazy, fast-paced environment of New York City and their sleepy oasis tucked away among the olive trees of Umbria, Italy. A consistent sell-out smash since their first appearance at Cape May Stage in 2010, Eikenberry and Tucker are guaranteed to entertain and delight in this intimate engagement.
