By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY – Cape May Stage (CMS) is pleased to announce its recent nomination of a “Favorite Theater to See a Play” in New Jersey by Discover Jersey Arts (DJA).
This prestigious nomination is part of Discover Jersey Arts’ annual statewide People’s Choice Awards contest.
DJA is a co-sponsored project of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and ArtPride New Jersey Foundation working in partnership with other cultural service organizations statewide including the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, South Jersey Cultural Alliance, and New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism. The project’s mission is to increase the awareness of and participation in the arts in New Jersey.
Since its inception in 1988, Cape May Stage has become known for providing high-quality professional Equity theatre that focuses on excellence in acting in an intimate setting and fosters Arts Education in academic and non-traditional venues.
Cape May Stage was nominated for this award by their peers through an anonymous online ballot. Fellow nominees include George Street Playhouse, McCarter Theatre, Paper Mill Playhouse, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and Two River Theater Company. Voting for DJA’s People’s Choice Awards began on Dec. 11, and will continue through Jan. 22, 2013.
“We are thrilled to have been nominated among such an esteemed group of New Jersey theatres,” said Roy Steinberg, Producing Artistic Director of Cape May Stage. “It’s a true testament to the quality of work we have been creating and offering to our audiences.”
Cape May Stage encourages everyone who loves CMS and appreciates what they bring to New Jersey on both a local and regional level to vote for Cape May Stage through CMS’s website at http://www.capemaystage.com/ or through CMS’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CapeMayStage. Winners will be announced on Feb. 1, 2013.
No stranger to awards, Cape May Stage has proudly and routinely been nominated for “Best Theatre in South Jersey” by DJA’s People’s Choice Awards, and has always won Capemay.com and Cape May Magazine’s Best Theatre in Cape May contest.
