Cape May Stage & PNC Arts Alive Host a Special Evening for Seniors to Attend

By Press Release

CAPE MAY– Cape May Stage, through the generous support of PNC Arts Alive, is hosting a special half-price senior evening performance of the heart-warming, holiday adaptation of the classic story, The Little Prince. On Sunday, December 5th, all seniors 62 and older can attend the performance at the discounted rate of $15 per ticket – that’s a 50% discount off regular box office prices. These performances sell out quickly, so call (609) 884-1341 or visit www.capemaystage.com to reserve tickets.
The Little Prince uses life-size puppets, live actors, original music, and magnificent sets to bring to life the inspiring story of a Little Prince who gains rare and unique insights into love, loss, and laughter. Directed by Scott Hitz and featuring the theatrical talents of Philadelphia-based actors Lenny Haas, Broadway stage and screen puppeteer Marc Petrosino, and Carol Anne Raffa, as well as Los Angeles’ Leila Ghaznavi and NY-based stage and screen puppeteer, Emmy winning designer Michael Schupbach, this touching production exemplifies the best of what the holiday season means to each of us.
Cape May Stage’s presentation of this classic is particularly unique. Artistic Director Roy Steinberg notes, “Some of the most innovative theatre on Broadway involves puppets. The Lion King, Avenue Q, and Little Shop of Horrors were all groundbreaking productions at the time they opened. Add to that list a literary classic, and you get Cape May Stage’s The Little Prince. I marvel at the magic onstage in this gorgeous production.” Steinberg adds, “Some of the artists who performed in those Broadway productions are part of the team that created this premiere. We’re thrilled to have Scott Hitz join the other visionary artists who are part of Cape May Stage for a spectacular close to the 2010 season.”
During the current run Cape May Stage is participating with 4 Cape May gourmet restaurants in a money-saving “Dinner & A Show” package promotion. Restaurants involved in the promotion include The Blue Pig Tavern at Congress Hall, The Ebbitt Room at the Virginia Hotel, The Mad Batter, and The Washington Inn. Call the individual restaurants for reservations and information.
PNC Financial Services Group is the presenting sponsor of Cape May Stage’s “Senior Savings Series.” The support is part of PNC Arts Alive, a five-year, $5 million investment from The PNC Foundation; to help area residents gain access to the arts, and help arts organizations expand and engage audiences.
