CAPE MAY — Team registration is now sold out for the 2013 Cape May Dragon Boat Festival and Races. The festival is Sept. 28 at the Cape May Harbor from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are 42 teams this year, made up of friends, family, co-workers, clubs, schools, bus drivers, community groups, local businesses, non-profits, and people who just want to have fun. Everyone is encouraged to come out and cheer your favorite team onto the finish line.
Each team is comprised of 21 paddlers who race head to head in 41 foot long dragon boats over a 200 meter course. To see photos of last year’s event, visit www.capemaydragonboat.com or for information, call Cathy at the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May at 609-884-5508.
Not only will there be breathtaking races, but also a flower ceremony, Karate performance by Kum Sung School of Martial Arts, beer garden, food court, and retail vendors that are sure to make lasting impressions on both racers and spectators.
