Cape May City Library Hosts Pastel Painting Classes

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – The Cape May County Library is delighted to offer the public a series of six pastel painting classes at the Cape May City Library. Classes will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays from January 18 through February 22. The library is located at Ocean and Hughes Streets in Cape May City.
Using pigments in their purest form, the pastel medium allows a wide range of expression from sketching to a completed composition. This workshop will include all levels of experience. Suggested supplies include: pastel paper pad, set of soft pastels, kneaded eraser, hand wipes and newspapers.
The class will be under the tutelage of Margaret Heuges, who has taught in the tri-state area, including Trenton State College, Temple University, Philadelphia Community College and Atlantic Cape Community College. Her work is represented in numerous university and corporate collections. Heuges is a past recipient of the Judith Selkowitz Fine Art Award of New York City. She is represented by Ris Gallery of Stone Harbor.
Space is limited; therefore, registration and a valid library card are required. For additional information please call 884-9568 or online at www.cmclibrary.org.
