Canadian Singing Sensation to Return to PAC

COURT HOUSE — Linda Gentille and The Jersey Shore Pops will be continuing their eight-concert season on Sat., July 13 with “Legendary Voices” in Concert” starring Canadian Singing Sensation Claude Eric at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center. Eric will perform the music of Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darren, Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson and Edith Piaf. “Eric is often compared in style and looks to Michael Bublé”
Claude-Eric was born in Montréal, Canada. The youngest of four children, he and his family were exposed to the cultures of Guinea, Algeria and Zaire, all African countries where they followed their father, whom was working as an engineer for several mining companies. A happy young boy, Claude-Eric was always singing and his mother use to record him and send tapes back to Canada where the extended family still had residence.
His vocal training began after high school with four years of private lessons in both classical and pop techniques at the School of Prochant Montréal, Les Ateliers de la Voix in Montréal and a private teacher Quebec City.
He then was offered his first professional show; “The Elvis Story”, which premiered in Quebec City, in the summer of 1995, toured to Toronto, Canada, and Biloxi, MI. He ended a contract as headliner on the MV Regal Empress and later joined Holland America Cruises, where the cruise line had a show specifically written for him.
The MV Zuiderdam was his home for a few months and he then took part in the maiden voyage of the MV Westerdam. For the last five years Claude-Eric has worked on many cruise lines as a popular Guest Entertainer, including Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Cunard, SilverSea, and Regent, While performing in different venues around Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Conductor of the Jersey Shore Pops, Gentille, first met Claude while both were headline performers on Princess Cruises. She was so impressed with his show and talent that she immediately invited him to perform with the orchestra in 2012 for the first time. Gentille comments, “I knew the minute I saw the audience reaction to Claude Eric’s show that he was a fabulous entertainer as well as singer and would appeal to our audience as well. Claude also has fans across the country who come to see him here at the Jersey Shore now. He has created a fan base all over the country which is a tremendous marketing asset for a performer.”
The Jersey Shore Pops 2013 Summer Concert Series will continue with the following shows:
July 21, 7:30 p.m.: “ The Italian Tenor” starring Aaron Caruso : “One of the greatest singers of our time performs Italian and Broadway classics.”
July 28, 7:30 p.m.: “Swingin’ 60s” starring Jim Yester and the YesterDaze
“If you loved music of the Sixties and “The Association”, you will want to be here for this show. Jim Yester, original founding member of the Association and his band play all the great hits of both!
Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m. “Classics Rock” starring conductor & pianist Linda Gentille :
“This is a brand new show that Linda performs on cruises around the world with all her own arrangements of the most popular classics of all time.
Aug. 11, 7:30 p.m.: “Music of “The Glenn Miller Orchestra” This show is going to be one of the highlights of the season that will feature all of the great hits of Glenn Miller.
August 17, 7:30 p.m.: “Sinatra and Friends” starring Peter Oprisko: “ Back by popular demand yet again is this amazing singer of Sinatra standards. He performs the music of Sinatra and the Rat Pack with additional songs by Judy Garland. This show will close the 2013 summer concert series with a bang.”`
The individual tickets will range from $25 for balcony seating to $40 for VIP orchestra center seating. Tickets at the door will increase to $30-$45 so advance purchases are encouraged to avoid long will call lines. The Middle Township PAC has large convenient parking lot and the parking at the venue is free of charge. There are limited free tickets available to qualified veterans only by going to www.vettix.org. You must sign up with the website in order to receive this free service.
