WILDWOOD CREST – Parrotheads are expected to be out in force as the Saturday evening portion of the 2014 Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series begins on the final Saturday of June.
Parrotbeach, a premier tribute band performing the best of Jimmy Buffett and other island- and summer-themed music, will perform at Centennial Park on Saturday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m.
This New Jersey-based, experienced five-piece band led by the talented Remy St. Martin does well to recreate the festive, party atmosphere of a Jimmy Buffett concert. The band regular performs Buffett classics such as “Margaritaville,” “A Pirate Looks At Forty,” “Why Don’t We Get Drunk,” “Changes In Latitude, Changes in Attitudes” as well other well known party hits connected to the summer season.
Billed as “your ultimate vacation destination,” Parrotbeach regularly performs at music festivals, corporate events, nightclubs, summer music series and casinos across the region. According to the band’s website, Parrotbeach has been called “the hardest-working full-time Buffett band on the circuit today.”
Saturday’s event is a free all-ages show. Attendees should bring a blanket or a chair. Centennial Park is located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue.
The Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series, supported by the Wildwood Crest Tourism Development Commission, consists of live music every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Park through Aug. 30. Other upcoming entertainment includes classic and progressive rock with Northbound Train on Wednesday, July 2; a special Friday evening show on July 4 (8 p.m. start) with the Manhattan Dolls performing American hits and patriotic favorites in USO style; all the hits of Bruce Springsteen with the B Street Band on Saturday, July 5; and summer-themed party music with the Mango Men Wednesday, July 9.
