SEA ISLE CITY — New York Times bestselling author Tess Gerritsen will be visiting the Sea Isle City Library to talk about her unique transition from Stanford-educated anthropology graduate, to physician, to novelist.
Continuing an unprecedented string of outstanding author visits, the Cape May County Library welcomes Tess Gerritsen to its Sea Isle City branch on June, 20 2014 at 6:00 p.m. Gerritsen is perhaps best known for her books featuring homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles, which sparked the popular TNT drama series Rizzoli and Isles. Formerly a writer of romantic suspense novels, as well as a number of bestselling medical thrillers, Gerritsen’s success has led to her work being published in forty different countries, selling over 25 million copies. Contemporary writers James Patterson and Stephen King are just a few of the many writers who have publicly applauded her work. Publisher weekly hailed her as the “medical suspense queen”.
A strong proponent of social media, Gerritsen is active on websites such as Twitter, and routinely blogs about many of the things she will be discussing at the Sea Isle Branch, such as the writing business and her unconventional journey to a successful writing career. Her public outreach makes her one of the most popular novelists working today, and the County Library system is expecting a large interest in this event. Seating will be limited, so patrons will be required to order tickets to ensure attendance. Registration opens on Monday, May 12, 2014.
