Beach Concert Series to Feature Music of John Denver, Fogelberg

By Press Release

POMONA — The Stockton Performing Arts Center goes to the “beach” again this summer presenting eight concerts in the ninth annual Stockton Goes to the Beach Summer Concert Series at the Music Pier in Ocean City.
On July 5, Stockton Goes to the Beach presents Country Roads: The Music of John Denver and Dan Fogelberg. Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at $25 and may be ordered online at www.ocnj.us or by calling 609-525-9300 or by going to the Ocean City Music Pier.
This is no mere ‘tribute” show. Country Roads: The Music of John Denver & Dan Fogelberg is a celebration of songs that — though they may be linked in our minds with that one original recording — really belong to all of us, the way great songs always have.
This new concert series celebrates the music that launched the careers of John Denver and Dan Fogelberg. Faithful to the spirit of the original recordings, the show features new vocal and band arrangements performed by a repertory company of first-rate New York and Nashville musicians.
The group will perform songs from Denver’s canon, including: “Rocky Mountain High,” “Thank God I’m A Country Boy,” “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Annie’s Song” and “Sunshine On My Shoulders.” Dan Fogelberg’s songs include: “Longer,” “Leader Of The Band,” “The Power Of Gold” and “Old Lang Syne.”
Produced by Ligeti Artists and theshowstore.com, the series is the brainchild of Peter Ligeti, in collaboration with music director, featured artist, and two-time Tony nominated actor Bob Stillman.
