BRIDGETON — Music both soave and scorching — a piano concerto and delightful suite by Maurice Ravel and one of Ludwig van Beethoven’s most popular, powerful symphonies—will make up the program of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony’s last subscription concert series of the 2010-11 season on May 6, 7, and 8.
The performances, conducted Music Director Jed Gaylin, will take place on Fri., May 6, at 8 p.m., at Rowan University’s Pfleeger Concert Hall, 201 Mullica Hill Rd., Glassboro; Sat., May 7, at 8 p.m., at the Frank Guaracini, Jr. Fine and Performing Arts Center, Cumberland County College, Sherman Avenue and College Drive, Vineland; and Sun., May 8, at 2 p.m., at the Richard Stockton College Performing Arts Center, Jimmie Leeds Road, Galloway Township.
A discounted ticket price of $25 will be for all seats in all venues, subsidized by a generous grant from the PNC Arts Alive grant program.
The program will include Philadelphia based pianist as soloist in Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major, one of the most exquisite, witty, and fragrant concertos for any instrument. Also on the program will be one of Ravel’s most profound scores, perfect in scope—his Mother Goose Suite (Ma mère l’oye), and Beethoven’s revolutionary Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55, “Eroïca.”
Tickets may be ordered by calling the Pfleeger Concert Hall box office at 856-256-4545, the Guaracini Fine and Performing Arts Center box office at 856-692-8499 or the Stockton College Performing Arts Center box office at 609-652-9000.
