Avalon to Host Bay-Atlantic Symphony for July 4 Concert

AVALON — Avalon is making final preparations for what is expected to be the biggest celebration of America’s birthday at the Jersey Shore. The world-renowned Bay-Atlantic Symphony will be present-ing a concert on Sun., July 4, at 6 p.m. inside the Avalon Community Hall. After the concert, Avalon will present one of the biggest fireworks displays in the state of New Jersey at approximately 8:45 p.m.
“This July 4 weekend in Avalon will truly be a celebration of America,” said Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi. “We are very honored to have the Bay-Atlantic Symphony call Avalon its summer home, and the borough is excited to present an evening filled with music, and family activities.”
The Bay-Atlantic Symphony will begin its fourth summer of Avalon performances with a presentation entitled “July 4th: Fanfares and Fireworks.” It will feature an all-American patriotic celebration of our country.
The Bay-Atlantic Symphony is conducted by Maestro and Music Director Jed Gaylin, who has performed in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Gaylin has been the Music Director for the symphony for the past 13 years, and has performed with many orchestras.
The concert is sponsored by the Borough of Avalon, the Avalon Department of Recreation, and Sturdy Savings Bank. It is free, and open to the public. Seating will be done on a first come, first served basis.
The borough will also set up speakers along the boardwalk to allow the performance to be heard by thousands of people who will participate in outdoor activities in advance of Avalon’s major fireworks presentation. Music that accompanies the fireworks display will be simulcast on radio station WCZT 98.7, the Coast.
