Knitting Club
Meet and share knitting techniques. No sign-ups are necessary; all levels of knitters are welcome, from beginner to advanced.

Smart Phones Workshop
Bring your smart phone to this users group and the instructor will help you learn how to use its features. The instructors will review new app releases, hardware and accessories. Cathy Zane will be lecturing and answering questions on iPhones from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. and Sean Farrell will handle Android & Windows phones from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.

Windows 8 Hands-On: Getting to Know Windows 8
Learning the basics: what is Windows 8 and how is it different from other versions of Windows? How do I start it up and shut it down? There can be a mouse AND a touch screen? Learning the Start Screen, charms bar menu and desktop. Setting up and customizing your user accounts. Make Windows 8 easier to use (changing screen sizes, background pictures, mouse sensitivity, and using multiple screens). Learn tools and tips to improve your holiday photos. This class will start as a demonstration of how to use the free and advanced features in PicMonkey to enhance your photos. You will have the chance for hands-on experience after the demonstration. This class is for both Apple and PC users. LibFlix Plus
The instructor will present an overview of the library’s four major download platforms for popular movies, TV shows, music, magazines, eBooks and eAudiobooks. Learn about hoopla for downloadable movies, TV shows, music and audiobooks, Overdrive for eBooks and eAudiobooks, Flipster for popular magazines and Freegal for downloadable music, all using only your library card! The first hour will be a demonstration of all four platforms with a half-hour Q&A session at the end.

Make a lidded Valentine Candy Dish with rose embellishments in this two-part class. Participants will make the dish during the first session Jan. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and and return to glaze the dish Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to noon. Windows 8 Hands-On: Apps and Internet
Learn how to use the apps that Windows 8 comes with (calculator, calendar, email, weather, travel, etc.), from how to open them, how to use them, how to adjust app settings, how to rearrange them on your start screen, etc. Learn how to get new apps from the Windows App Store (browsing and searching the store, exploring available apps by category, downloading and installing apps, how to uninstall apps. Learn how to connect to the Internet with Windows 8. Browse the Web with Internet Explorer (app vs. desktop), learn how to search for what you need and how to open one or more pages, how to change your Internet Explorer settings, marking favorites and reading pages with the Reader App, using browsers other than Internet Explorer (Google Chrome and Firefox). This class will give you an overview of all Cloud computing options like iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox. Participants will look in detail at Dropbox vs. Apple iCloud to understand the difference.
