August Events Set at TI Civic Center

TOWNSEND INLET — August events at the T I Civic Center will kicks off with the Mermaid of the Sea Festival from 4-8 p.m. featuring coastal art, nautical items, crafts and jewelry. Auction at 7 p.m. Children ages 2-10 who come dressed as a mermaid and Jr. King Neptune can enter the costume contest at 6 p.m. to win prizes.
Have their picture taken with the Mermaid of the Sea herself as she gives away t shirts and prizes. “Summer’s Best Card Party” Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The annual Little Miss Townsends Inlet Contest Aug. 9 at 7 pm. Sign up at 10 a.m. The T I Civic Center’s Fashion Show Aug. 14, 1 p.m. for a $10 donation receive tea and special cakes.
Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. is the Miss Teen Sea Isle ages 13-19, Miss Sea Isle ages 19-30 and Mrs. Sea Isle ages 30+. Sign up is at 10 a.m. at the center.
Come be a part of the center’s beauty contest tradition, Little Miss Sea Isle was started at the center. The center has dedicated this year as “The Year of the Child.” The T I Civic Center is located at 138 85th St. in Sea Isle
