Audiences Are Loving ELTC’s ‘Mr. Lincoln’

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company selected “Mr. Lincoln” to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the assassination of the 16th President. It’s garnering excellent reviews, including this recent post on TripAdvisor. Here are excerpts:
“Mr. Lincoln is another brilliant production by ELTC. I have experienced many standing ovations, but only a handful of TRUE, spontaneous standing ovations. Last night, at the close of “Mr. Lincoln” was one of those rare standing ovations in which an entire audience (a full house) sprung to their feet at once (as if on cue) and roared with thunderous applause, hoots and shouts of “BRAVO!” Those moments are extremely rare.
Tom Byrn plays Lincoln with flawlessness and incredible realism. When an actor can walk onto a stage and completely vanish into their character and send chills up your spine, you KNOW that is acting at its finest.
Gayle Stahlhuth’s direction never once overshadowed or underplayed the sensitive and delicate aspects of the script which effectively brought Lincoln and his legacy to life. I feel like I can honestly say that I was indeed in the presence of one of the greatest men who ever lived. Yes, folks, it was THAT good. Do yourself a favor and see ‘Mr. Lincoln.’”
“Mr. Lincoln” runs Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:30p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes Street in Cape May, where ELTC is in residence. Tickets: $30; $25 seniors; $15 student/military/veterans; ages 12 and under free.
