CAPE MAY — The second week of the 21st annual Cape May Music Festival features stellar performances by the Atlantic Brass Band, New York Chamber Ensemble and Bay-Atlantic Symphony from Sunday, through June 3.
Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with a free outdoor performance by the Atlantic Brass Band on Sunday, at 8 p.m. at Rotary Bandstand, Lafayette St. and Lyle Lane.
The New York Chamber Ensemble presents “Will the Real Mozart Please Stand Up?” on June 1 at 8 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, Washington and Franklin streets
Audiences will also enjoy one of the great standards of all chamber music, the actual Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet. General admission is $20, seniors $15, and $5 students.
The Bay-Atlantic Symphony returns to the Cape May Music Festival under the musical direction of Jed Gaylin. Gaylin has been Music Director of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony since 1997 and he is credited with forging a formidable ensemble.
The Bay-Atlantic Symphony will present “Looking Bachwards” with baritone soloist John Dooley on June 3 at 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St.
The program includes J.S. Bach’s Cantata 82, “Ich habe genug,” Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, plus Greig’s Holberg Suite. General admission is $25, seniors $20, and students $10.
On June 2 at 12:30 p.m., members of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony perform a mini concert during the Bach’s Lunch,
co-sponsored by John and Sylvia Baer in memory of Fred and Sarita Kuhner, at the Carriage House Tearoom & Café located on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St.
Enjoy the sweet sounds of the symphony and a luncheon of sandwiches, salad, breads, pastries and beverages. Tickets are $25 per person. Seating is limited, reserve early.
Bach’s Lunches are presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities (MAC) with funding from PNC Arts Alive and the Priester Family Foundation (Sue Priester). An additional Lunch is offered on Wednesday, June 9.
