AVALON – Every year the Avalon Yacht Club, located at 7th on the Bay, is host to our Artists and Friends Art Show. This year the show will take place on Tuesday, August 16 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door, $15 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.
The incredible views from the club provide the perfect backdrop for an evening of cocktails, mouth-watering hors d’ oeuvres, a silent auction, and most important, amazing artwork. This event showcases many of our talented local artists and has become one of our most popular events of the week.
This dynamic show displays various examples of great talent and art styles. It integrates the local community and the arts with a common goal to support families undergoing the stresses of having a child with cancer. Many of the artists return year after year, joined by new artists who have heard of this worthwhile event.
Helen Clymer, of the Painted Lady Studio, who has participated in the show for many years states, “the art exhibit reflects a special community of concerned artists who embrace and support the force of children and families in need, and respect the memory of those who have passed….. I am honored to be a humble part of this circle.”
Wendy Tribulski, another local artist states, “the Brendan Borek Art Show is an opportunity for me to give back some of what this island community has given to me. I have had a wonderful experience meeting other local artists and hearing the reaction to my work at the show. I look forward to contributing a portion of my sales to the Brendan Borek Fund. As a teacher, parent, and community member I fully support the funds mission.”
Luther Riexinger, a photographer from Cape May Court House states, “ I was touched by the power and influence people can have when united to promote a worthy cause and to help others. I look forward to once again being part of this diverse community of people making a difference in the lives of others.”
We thank all the artists for their past support and hope to see them again this year.
This is an art show that has something for everyone. So mark the date on your calendar and join us for a very special evening. For more information go to www.brendansfund.org.
