Artist Margaret McCann Featured at Atlantic Cape’s Art Gallery

MAYS LANDING – Atlantic Cape Community College’s Art Gallery will feature “What We Worry,” by artist Margaret McCann, through Dec. 10. A reception to meet the artist is scheduled for 1 – 4 p.m., Sat., Nov. 12. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
McCann’s paintings combine portraiture, figures, architecture, still life and cityscapes with scale dislocation and humor. Her paintings are inspired by a variety of psychological and actual experiences, including living in Atlantic City and Italy and growing up with nine siblings.
Her work is represented by Galleria Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura in Milan, and Galerie Boicos Beckel Odille in Paris. Nationally, she has shown her work in New York, Boston and Chicago. McCann’s paintings have been reviewed in Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Observer and Art New England.
In addition to her artistic talents, McCann is a poet and serves as the department chair of faculty at the New York Academy of Art. She has taught at numerous colleges and universities, including: Boston, Syracuse, University of New Hampshire, Richard Stockton College and the International School in Umbria.
Atlantic Cape’s Art Gallery is located on the college’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, adjacent to the theater in C-building (C-125), parking lot #3. Gallery hours can be obtained by calling the Art Gallery Information Line, (609) 343-5040.
