‘Anything Goes’ Reprises at Lower Cape May Regional

By Press Release

ERMA – The students of Lower Cape May Regional High School will present Cole Porter’s delightful and delectable high seas’ romp, Anything Goes, March 14 through March 16 at 7 p.m. and March 17 at 2 p.m. in The Paul W. Schmidtchen Theatre at Lower Cape May Regional in Erma.
Set against Porter’s magically romantic canvas of American standards like “You’re the Top”, “Blow, Gabriel Blow”, “It’s De-Lovely”, “I Get a Kick Out of You”, and “All Through the Night”, among others, this age-old tale of Boy-Meets-Girl and the complications which ensue have intrigued and delighted audiences for decades.
Three couples – Debutante Hope Harcourt, up and coming Wall Street broker, Billy Crocker, evangelist turned night club singer, Reno Sweeney, stuffy British entrepreneur Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, Hope’s overbearing mother, Evangeline Harcourt and Ivy League Wall Street financier Elisha J. Whitney – weave nattily through Porter’s score with a company who supports their every turn.
Complications ensue including an adventure or two with Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin, mistaken identities, the FBI, wishful thinkings, happy coincidences and uproarious hijinks all aboard the S.S. AMERICAN as she sails the high seas.
