By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY – Are you wondering whether that landscape painting you bought for $10 at a yard sale might be worth something? How about that pocket watch or piece of jewelry you inherited years ago?
Find out during an event sponsored by the Friends of the Physick Estate on March 22 at 1 p.m. at the Cape May Lutheran Church, 509 Pittsburgh Ave. All About Antiques with Arthur Schwerdt features a discussion of antiques along with appraisals.
Admission is $5 for Friends of the Physick Estate and $10 for members of the public. Admission includes appraisals for up to two items.
Schwerdt has been certified as a Senior Professional Appraiser by the National Association of Professional Appraisers and is a member of the New England Appraisers Association. He has been appraising antiques furniture and decorative arts, residential furnishings and collectibles for over 28 years. He is a frequent lecturer to historical societies and collectors’ groups, and has been asked to appear on several radio and television programs to discuss and appraise antiques. He has been writing a column on antiques since 1985, which appears regularly in the Cape May County Herald. He is the co-owner of The August Farmhouse Antiques, in business on Route 9 in Swainton since 1983.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Physick Estate, an affinity group of the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC).
