By Press Release

OCEAN CITY – Afrizo, a select group of traveling students from Daystar University, Nairobi, Kenya, in East Africa, presents a concert at Ocean City Tabernacle, Tues., Oct. 18, 7 p.m. Admission is free, with an offering received.
Afrizo sings a lively mix of African gospel music—most in English, some in Kiswahili, Zulu, or other African languages. The members of Afrizo are students at Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya. They sing under the direction of Hellen Mtawali, a musician who is well known in Kenya for composing creative songs in multiple languages.
The goal of Afrizo’s tour is to raise scholarship funds for promising young people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend Daystar University. After the service meet the members of Afrizo, purchase CDs, and learn about Daystar.
Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya, has over 4,200 students, from over 20 African countries. Daystar emphasizes strong Christian faith combined with servant leadership. Its graduates serve in government, business, media, community development, education, the church and other fields in their home countries, becoming the next generation to transform Africa.
