WILDWOOD – A heaping helping of Olde World Italy will be served with amore and plenty of white, red and green during the 9th Annual Wildwoods Olde Time Italian Festival, taking place on Fri., Sept. 27 and Sat., Sept. 28. Hosted by the Wildwood Sons of Italy, this event will take place in Fox Park, located at Burk and Atlantic Avenues across from the Wildwoods Convention Center.
The free two-day festival celebrates Italian culture with contests, crafts, and games for the little ones, authentic Italian cuisine and continuous free live entertainment. Take in the traditional smells and tastes of an Italian market, plus Italian-made goods, crafts and merchandise as vendors of all kinds fill Fox Park, including those selling Italian dishes like pastas, sausage and peppers, chicken cutlets, clams & spaghetti, tiramisu, cannolis and more.
The Olde Time Italian Festival kicks off on Fri., Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. with the Procession of Saints Mass, and festivities will continue until midnight.
Music on Friday night will feature Giovanni from 6-7 p.m., Rocket 88 from 7 to 8 p.m., 45 RPM from 8 to 9 p.m., and Tom Pisi & the Wildness Band with Patricia Durant from 9-10 p.m. Saturday’s festivities will start at noon with music from the John Walters Band, Wayne & Jamie & Aquanets, Just in Time, Sonny Averone & Johnny Bones, Tre Bella, and Skyliners. Both the Spaghetti Eating Contest and the Grape Stomping Contest will kick off at 3 p.m.
