2nd Annual Bob Hartman Food for Thought Beef and Beer

By Sponsored Content

Come out and join us Saturday, November 2nd from 8-11pm at the Bayview Inn in Wildwood Crest for the 2nd Annual Bob Hartman “Food For Thought” Beef & Beer Benefit for Frontotemporal Degeneration Research.
On this night, we honor a great man, Bob Hartman, who was taken too soon by this disease. FTD is a disease that causes shrinkage to the brain. As the disease progresses, it becomes increasingly difficult for people to plan or organize activities, behave appropriately in social or work settings, interact with others, and care for oneself, resulting in increasing dependency. While there are currently no treatments to slow or stop the progression of the disease, FTD research is expanding.
The Hartman family is dedicated to raising funds for research in Bob’s name as he was the kind of person who would always help a friend or a stranger in need. A local resident of Wildwood, Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Some have even called him a hero as once he ran into a burning house explosion to save a mother and her children trapped inside. Another of his heroic moments occurred on September 13, 2005, when he helped to form a human chain and rescue a woman and a small boy who were drowning in the ocean of North Wildwood’s beach.
He was an entertainer who enjoyed visiting the local nursing homes to sing to patients his “Memorable Melodies”. He would often say, “it makes me happy to make people smile”. This year’s event will feature the high energy band “Never Enough”. You will also have the chance to win some fabulous prizes, while donating to a charitable cause that is tax deductible!
All proceeds from the Bob Hartman Memorial “Food for Thought” Beef & Beer Benefit will go directly to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) to aid in the research for a cure. Tickets are being sold $20.00 in advance at the Bayview. Tickets sales the night of the event are $25.00 at the door. For more information, please call 609-224-8099. For more information about FTD, please visit their website at www.theaftd.org.
