To the Editor:
I am writing in response to the Spout Off from Del Haven that said, “If you still think Trump is worthy of leading this country, please listen to his commencement speech at West Point. I was embarrassed for him.”
In my view, the president’s speech to the West Point graduates was uplifting, respectful, fitting for the occasion and honorable.
I also watched CBS pundit Scott Pelley’s inappropriate address to graduates and parents at North Carolina’s Wakefield University. What on earth was he thinking? He probably won’t be on “60 Minutes” much longer. Adios.
Donald Trump is a great president – the right man at the right time. Compare that to Obama: a “Narcissus in the Hall of Mirrors.” He formed an exploratory committee for a presidential run after just 124 days in the U.S. Senate. Joe Biden, meanwhile, had been wistful for the role for decades. In 2020, he became a useful dupe – Obama’s third term, engineered by his political handlers.
