LEAHY-DESALIS,
KAREN
Karen Leahy-DeSalis, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025 at the age of 56. Born and raised in Avalon, NJ, Karen was the cherished daughter of William and Kay Leahy and sister to Dennis Leahy. She was a loving mother to her four sons, Anthony, Stephen, Chaz, and Marc, and a devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren, Tyler, Sophia, Dahlia, Mason, Preston, and Chazy.
Karen's life was filled with a deep love for her family, friends, and the simple joys of nature. She had a special place in her heart for the beach, where she found peace in the sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun, and the beauty of sunsets and full moons. Karen's vibrant spirit and her ability to bring light and warmth into any room will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A service will be held for those who loved her on February 15, 2025 at the Sacred Heart Church on 25th Street and First Ave in Avalon, NJ. Visitation from 10AM to 11AM & Mass 11AM to 12PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karen's honor to The Cape May County Zoo where many fond memories were made and continue to be made by her loved ones.
Karen's soul will forever be intertwined with the timeless beauty of the ocean and the love she gave so freely to those around her. May she rest in peace.
