KOHLER, SR., JOHN E. John E. Kohler, Sr., aged 82, a cherished patriarch, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024. Born on February 12, 1942, John's life was one replete with love, laughter, and an enduring spirit of community. John was a dedicated family man, survived by his children Debbie Lamach (Jim), Terry Kahle (John), Bob Gittle (Lavonne, affectionately known as Laverne), Tim Gittle (Rachel), and John Kohler, Jr., as well as his sister Marie Kitchen. His legacy further lives on through a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His journey preceded in passing by his beloved wife Veronica "Ronnie" Kohler, his daughter Karen Kohler, and his brothers Rod and Pete Kohler. For many years, John was a familiar face in Rio Grande, NJ. He served the community through his work at Wildwood Glass and Kohler's Auto Glass, earning the trust and respect of his colleagues and customers alike. A man of many interests, John was a proud member of the Elks and once reveled in the festivities of the Mummers in his earlier days in Philadelphia. His warmth was felt in the aisles of Shop Rite and Wal Mart, where he never missed a chance to strike up a conversation. His passion for life was evident in the love he had for his grandchildren and his hobbies, which included collecting various treasures, especially cars during his youth. John will be remembered for his friendliness and thoughtfulness and as a beacon of light in the lives he touched. His departure leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
