KEEN, ELIZABETH S.
Elizabeth Suzanne Keen, 101, of Avalon, NJ passed away June 16, 2024. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Harry and Lillian Hoxworth Rhodes.
Betty summered in Avalon before moving permanently in 1967. She was the Borough Clerk for Avalon in 1943 during World War II and saw the great hurricane of that same year. She would later work in the cafeteria for the Avalon Elementary School. Betty was an active parishioner at St. Brendan The Navigator Parish, Maris Stella Church where she was a member of the Rosary Group since 1991.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis “Frank” X. Keen, Sr. and her son Francis “Skip” X. Keen, Jr.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Suzanne E. Keen; and her cousins: Bud and Betsy Keen Meyers, and Dr. Wesley and Lisa Rhodes; as well as nieces, a nephew, and many devoted friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Maris Stella Church, 50th Street and Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ 08202. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Rosary will be said at 10:15 a.m. Mass will start at 11 a.m. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's name to Holy Redeemer Food Pantry, the Avalon Rescue Squad, Wounded Warrior Project, and St. Jude Children's Hospital.

LANOCE, JR. VALENTINO JOSEPH Valentino Joseph Lanoce, Jr, age 92 of Jensen Beach, Florida and Wildwood, New Jersey passed away on December 30, 2024, at his home in Jensen Beach, Florida. Valentino was born on October 2, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Valentino Lanoce, Sr. and Antoinette (Secreta) Lanoce.
