Indictments Filed Nov. 21

Readers are reminded that not only are all individuals listed below presumed innocent unless proven guilty, but there may also be multiple individuals who share the same name, even in the same town.

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 15 indictments Nov. 21. 

The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.  

John W. Kutas III was indicted on three second-degree counts for aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault of a victim less than 13 years of age and endangering the welfare of a child.

Andrew Gosseaux faces a third-degree count for possession of a CDS, methamphetamine, and a fourth-degree count for criminal trespass.

Kayla C. Sluzenski was named in a two-count indictment for unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree and possession of a prohibited weapon in the fourth degree. The weapon was a Ruger 9mm handgun.

William Smith was indicted on two counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, methamphetamine and para-fluorofentanyl, along with third-degree theft.

Matthew Winters faces two fourth-degree counts for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon, a spring-loaded knife.

Jorge L. Aviles was named in a three-count indictment for aggravated assault and making terroristic threats, both third degree, along with aggravated assault in the fourth degree.

Ronald Scott and Christopher Duffy were each separately and individually indicted on a single count of possession of a CDS in the third degree. The drugs were heroin and fentanyl.

Dawn Priest was indicted for theft in the third degree related to an incident in Wildwood in May.

John Ruggiano faces a three-count indictment for terroristic threats and unlawful possession of a weapon, both third degree, along with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes in the second degree. The weapon was a BB gun.

Alan M. Afanador was named in two second-degree counts for aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Twyenika Y. Clegg and Phillip Miller were indicted separately and individually for third-degree shoplifting from merchants in Middle Township.

Jose Lopez faces a single count of third-degree aggravated assault related to an incident in Middle Township in September.

Raymond Bailey was indicted on one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
