Readers are reminded that not only are all individuals listed below presumed innocent unless proven guilty, there may also be multiple individuals who share the same name, even in the same town.

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 18 indictments Nov. 19. 

The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.  A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons. 

Brendan M. McCarthy was indicted on two third-degree counts, for aggravated assault on a North Wildwood police officer and resisting arrest. A third count was for fourth-degree aggravated assault.

Travis T. Lynch faces two counts of aggravated assault, both in the third degree and both on health-care workers in the performance of their duties.

Ryan Kemble was named in a one-count indictment for making terroristic threats in Middle Township in August.

Dwight Layton faces a third-degree charge of escape after failing to return to detention following a temporary grant of leave.

Shawn C. Browning-Hamond and Mario Gigliotti were jointly indicted on a single count of third-degree possession of a CDS, fentanyl.

Alexandra Catanese was named in a three-count indictment, for third-degree aggravated assault in circumstances that fit the definition of domestic violence, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, a broom, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Charles D. Martell was indicted on a count of fourth-degree stalking in Ocean City from June 27 to July 14.

Shea P. O’Neill faces a third-degree count for possession of a CDS, cocaine.

Derek J. Diskin was indicted on two third-degree counts of bad check and failure to make required disposition.

Roxanne M. DeFrancisco was named in a two-count indictment for third-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree assault by auto.

Jose Morales faces a fourth-degree count for shoplifting from a Middle Township merchant in August.

Xavier Eagan was named in a single-count indictment for fourth-degree resisting arrest in Wildwood in September.

Qinana A. Carter was indicted on a count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Joshua Powell faces three counts of possession of a CDS in the third degree. The controlled substances were methamphetamine, alprazolam and morphine.

Darius Hudgins was indicted for third-degree theft of a motor vehicle, a 2022 Buick Encore, in Wildwood in October.

Antwuam T. Cradle faces a third-degree count for possession of a CDS, alprazolam, and fourth-degree certain person, possession of a stun gun, after being convicted in 2012 in Cumberland County of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Richard Boyce and Sheri Wiley were jointly indicted on four counts, third-degree possession of a CDS, methamphetamine, and three fourth-degree counts, two for unlawful possession of a weapon, an expandable baton and a blackjack, and one for possession of a prohibited weapon, brass knuckles.

Gregory Pulio and Omayra Rivera were jointly indicted for shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting in Upper Township in July. Both counts were in the third degree.
