Indictments Filed Aug. 6, 2024

Readers are reminded that not only are all individuals listed below presumed innocent unless proven guilty, there may also be multiple individuals who share the same name, even in the same town.

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 11 indictments Aug. 6. 

The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.   

Bailey E. McGuckin was indicted on fourth-degree throwing bodily fluids in North Wildwood in June.

Ethen A. Szwed faces a single count of fourth-degree resisting arrest in Lower Township.

Mark D. Town was named in a two-count indictment for third-degree theft by deception and fourth-degree violation of the Contractor Registration Act.

Ronald Leider and Timothy Barrus jointly face counts for theft and conspiracy, both third degree. Leider alone was named in a third-degree count for receiving stolen property.

Christoper Sage and Jessica Maiorano were jointly indicted for third-degree theft and conspiracy to commit theft. Sage alone is named in two additional counts, for forgery and uttering a false instrument, both third degree.

Johnny Garcia was indicted on two counts of fourth-degree aggravated assault on health-care workers who were engaged in the performance of their duties.

Taylor Erickson faces two second-degree counts for making a false report to a police officer and causing a false public alarm. The incident happened in North Wildwood in June.

Janette Miller was named in a two-count indictment for third-degree possession of a CDS, methamphetamine, and fourth-degree shoplifting.

Christian Capetillo was indicted on a single count of second-degree aggravated assault in Cape May City in June.

Todd D. Dudley, Kevin J. Conti and Nicholas Carrera were jointly indicted on a count of second-degree conspiracy. Dudley alone also faces a second-degree count of aggravated assault and a third-degree count for hindering apprehension. Both Conti and Carrera jointly were named in two third-degree counts, for endangering an injured victim and hindering apprehension.

Natalie E. Ciferni was indicted on two counts of second-degree eluding police and one count of resisting arrest in the third degree.
