Elizabeth A. Hudson (Betty), 90, of Rio Grande, passed away on March 4, 2025. She was born in Westville, NJ, to the late John and Betty Thompson. Betty was predeceased by her sister, Joan Carlson, her brother, John Thompson, and her beloved husband, Allen, the love of her life.
She is survived by her son, Allen (Beverly) Hudson; her daughter, Linda (Glenn) Pennycook; her granddaughter, Nicole (Dale) Hiles; and her great-granddaughter, Logan Hiles, who were the lights of her life. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as wonderful neighbors who lovingly adopted her as “Nanny.”
Betty was famous for her homemade breads made with seasonal fruits, which she generously shared with all who crossed her path. Feisty and quick-witted, she always had a clever comeback that brought laughter to those around her. Betty spent many years managing Hallmark stores, first in CMCH and later in Rio Grande.
Betty and Al had a passion for dancing and always enjoyed moving to the music whenever they had the chance. Now, her partner is waiting for the next dance.
