HOWEY, JAMIE Jamie Howey, age 95, died peacefully in her sleep October 5, 2023 at Crest Haven Nursing Home where she received excellent and compassionate care from many special caregivers. Jamie was a long time resident of Villas, NJ. She and her husband, Marshall, were owners of Howey's Nursery, Lawn and Garden Center for twenty years. Jamie was a member of Cape Island Baptist Church. She was loved by and loved her family and friends. Jamie was an example of grace and charm who always made her family and friends feel they were special. Jamie was born and raised in Troutman, NC. As a young adult she moved to New Bern, NC to live with her sister where she met and married her husband of 75 years, Marshall Howey, a career U.S. Marine. After his retirement from the Marine Corps they moved to the Villas. Jamie is survived by her husband, Marshall Howey; daughters Paula (Randy) Bakley of Fishing Creek, NJ and Marcia (Ron) Stanley of Waynesboro, MS. Grand-daughters Melissa Bakley, Michelle McCarragher, Yong LeRay, Heather Roemhild; great-grand-children Alex, Logan and Danielle; sister, Coleen Fox of Wilmington, DE and special longtime friend, Bonnie Mulligan.
