HOFFERT, ANNA E. Anna E. Hoffert, of Erma, NJ, a beacon of kindness and the epitome of a faith-filled life, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on May 31, 1929, in Camden, NJ, she was a woman whose warmth and friendly smile touched the lives of many in her community. Anna grew up in a bustling household as the oldest of five children, where she was instilled with a strong sense of responsibility and family heritage. Her high school years culminated with a graduation from Middle Township High School, after which she dedicated herself to preserving the memories of her class by assisting with the class reunions. Her career as a banker at Union Trust Company in Wildwood, NJ, was marked with the same meticulous care and personal touch that she brought into every facet of her life. A lifelong resident of the area, Anna was deeply involved in her community, contributing her time and energies to several organizations. She was an active member of the Rio Grande Bible Baptist Church, Young At Heart, and the Garden Club of Cape May. Her service extended into the role of an honorary member of the Rio Grande Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, where she lovingly organized the annual Christmas dinners. Anna's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She was an enthusiast of sewing and gardening, and she took great joy in the company of hummingbirds that visited her well-tended garden. Travel was another passion; she enjoyed exploring new horizons through cruises and bus trips. A voracious reader, Anna would often be found lost in a book. Even after retirement, she extended her expertise in finances, ensuring everything was in order. She had a particular talent for canning vegetables and fruits, a summer tradition that brought the tastes of the season to her family's table throughout the year. Watching the family farming brought her deep contentment, fueled by her inherent fondness for nurturing growth, both in the soil and within her family. Anna cherished her family above all, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Rodgers; her nieces and nephews, William Hoff, III, George Hoff, Robert Hoff, Charles "Chuck" Hoff, Jr., Paul Hoff, Wanda Hoff, Raymond Hoff, Jr., Barbara Jean Kanengiser, Linda Cornett, and Nathan Rodgers; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, including her beloved Timothy Kanengiser. Anna was predeceased by her husband Merritt "Bud" Hoffert, her parents William Edward Hoff, Sr. and Emily H. André Hoff, and her brothers William Hoff, Jr., Charles Hoff, Sr., and Raymond Hoff, Sr. Anna's life was one of selfless service and boundless affection, always considering others before herself. In caring for everyone around her, from friends and family to plants and animals, Anna exemplified what it means to live a fulfilled and giving life. Her memory will be cherished and her legacy of love will continue to flourish like the gardens she tended so well.
