Herald Looking to Hire a Full-Time Reporter

Love to report and write? Want to do it full time? The Cape May County Herald has an opening for a full-time reporter. Join our newsroom; apply today!

The successful candidate will:

  • Be willing to undertake a broad mix of hard news, enterprise and feature stories, and come up with story proposals as well as accept assignments from editors.
  • Be passionate about issues facing Cape May County and its towns and school districts.
  • Have a keen interest in keeping Cape May County residents informed.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study and one year’s experience in journalism.
  • Thrive under deadlines, with high energy and a strong work ethic.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and unrestricted use of a personal vehicle.

Experience in municipal reporting and with data-driven reporting and multimedia reporting are pluses, as is basic competence in taking photos to go along with stories. Compensation commensurate with experience.
