HEITMAN, WILLIAM T.
William Thomas Heitman, aged 88, passed away on October 27, 2024, in Cape May, New Jersey. Born on September 28, 1936, grew up in Bloomfield New Jersey area, raised his family in Sussex County and retired in Cape May New Jersey.
William had a profound impact on those around him through his fun spirit and passions. William (Bill) dedicated 60 years to Local 825, International Union of Operating Engineers, where he skillfully operated large cranes, building many of the New Jersey skylines, bridges and roadways. An adored husband and father, Bill lived his life for his family. An avid lover of the sea, Bill found joy in sailing, a hobby that spoke to his fun-loving spirit. He also had a passion for dancing, sunsets, moonrises and adventures.
Bill is survived by his adored wife, Patricia Heitman, whom he was married to for 64 loving years. He is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Heitman, Theresa Heitman, Patricia Orlandini, Joyce Angelo, and Maryellen Angelo, his grandchildren, Kara Driscoll, Alexis Ambrosino, Autumn Berrouette, Nick, Justin and Andrew Taulbee and his great grandchildren, Aoife Maloney, Evan and Archer Plock. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard Heitman; niece, Sherry (Heitman) Foster; nephew, Richard Heitman Jr.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Carol Mann; niece, Danielle (Mann) Mazuy; and nephew, Tony Mann Jr. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Heitman; brother, Joseph Heitman Jr.; and his parents, Mildred and Joseph Heitman.
Bill's life was marked by his commitment to his family, his career, and his hobbies, all of which reflected his spirited, passionate and adventurous heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
