GALLOWAY, MARISA

GALLOWAY, MARISA
Marisa Galloway, 45, of New York City, and formerly of Wildwood, NJ, passed away on July 26th, 2024. Marisa was an amazing person who touched the life of everyone she met. Her kindness, generosity, and love were unparalleled. She devoted her life to raising her two beautiful daughters – they were her world. Marisa's passing will leave a void in all who knew her, but her memory will live on in her daughters and in the hearts of her family and friends.
Marisa was a 1997 graduate of Wildwood Catholic High School, and went on to study at Fordham University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in 2001 and master's degree in 2005. While at Fordham, she was an active member of the University's track team, participating in both the high jump and relay. After her graduation, she became an assistant coach at Fordham, where she helped guide student athletes for over 15 years.
Marisa worked as a middle school special education teacher and administrator in Ardsley, NY for nearly 20 years, where her principle called her “as good as they get in every way.” Prior to having children, Marisa was a member of the Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol for many years. Marisa was active in the Central Park Track Club for many years as a runner, board member and member of the advisory board. She was a competitive runner and triathlete, often finishing at the top of her age group.
Marisa is survived by her two beloved daughters, her parents Nancy and John Galloway of Wilwood, NJ, her brothers John of Yardley, PA and Jason of Philadelphia, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Details of memorial services to be held in the fall will be announced at a later date. Donations in Marisa's honor to support her legacy can be made to: www.gofundme.com/f/honor-marisa-galloway-support-her-legacy
